Despite Texas showing us record hot temps, we survived and thrived on our trip! J and I loved getting to spend time together and having extra time with my mom and our family there was a big bonus! We missed Logan - it's the longest I've been away from him - but he had so much fun with Gma, Gpa and his Uncas that we enjoyed our time away. Why did we go to Texas? I am an independent distributor of Premier Designs Jewelry and our National Convention (Rally as we call it) was in Fort Worth. We made a trip to Waco to see the Magnolia Silos, Market, and Table, visited family, and spent three … [Read more...]
Crowned and Sent Out
I love digging into God's Word and seeing what He has tell me. I don't do it as regularly as I want to, but I am getting better. Journaling the word (I love Cultivate What Matters' Write the Word Journals!) has become a favorite of mine. I can choose a short or a long passage, depending on time (#momlife). I loved writing kids church curriculum for the same reason - reading and rereading, looking up background information and writing out the words God gives me about the text. Crowned with Love and Compassion
I was reading in Psalm 103 the other day and this response just flowed out like a devotional. I'm not trained in writing devotionals or in interpreting scripture, but I do honestly believe this message of being "crowned" with love and compassion came into my heart from God. I'll read them in different versions or even listen to them being read in my Bible app and take notes on … [Read more...]
Luke: Introducing Jesus – A Free Lesson and Handout!
I have always been known as the girl with many jobs. I could never seem to have just one! Growing up, they varied from helping on the farm, to baling hay, to babysitting, to cleaning neighbor's homes. In high school, I cleaned houses, babysat, taught swim lessons, was a lifeguard, and worked evenings at Dairy Queen. In college, I balanced a job, school work, and elementary classroom experience. … [Read more...]
For the Woman Feeling Uprooted
Have you ever felt completely uprooted, disconnected, torn apart? Like a plant that has gone without water for far too long or that is so full to the brim that things start spilling over? I have too. I was doing my best to care for my plants and felt God press something on my heart. Before we begin, you should know that I am definitely the black thumb in my family. My grandmother, aunt, mom, and everyone else it seems has flourishing gardens outside and happy house plants indoors. Not so for me - at least not until this year! The only plant I've been able to keep alive recently was a … [Read more...]
