Who are you?
My name is Anna Jean and I have been married to my best friend for about 2.5 years. We added Logan Everette to our little family in April 2016, and now the three of us live in a little apartment in a sweet little town on the Mississippi River. We are dreaming of owning our first home, while using all our DIY and organizational skills to make our apartment homey (read…trying to make all our stuff fit).
I have had the privilege of being a nanny for a local family for 2.5 years, and after maternity leave I returned to work. I am blessed to get to take Logan with me, and even though it’s hard at times I truly love my job. My pseudo-kids as I call them, are 15, 10, 6, and 3.
What is the Graceful Journey?
The Graceful Journey is my story, an expression of my heart. I started it as a way to encourage and “do life” with others. My hope is that my words would be authentic and my life transparent. I am not perfect and this blog is not meant to be a glimpse into my perfect life but rather a way to connect with others through real life messes and victories.
Where did you come up with the name “The Graceful Journey”?
The name “Graceful Journey” came from a couple different things.
My name, Anna, means “graceful” – literally “full of grace”. As a child, I always thought that meant that I was meant to be elegant and softspoken – two things I am not. (Loudest talker and biggest clutz award went to me every time.) As I grew up and walked through life a little more, I learned that being full of grace, at least for me, had less to do with elegance and more to do with my faith and my attitude toward others.
“For I know that plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you.”
